Life comes with all sorts of twists and turns, especially for someone named Amol.
As fate would have it, this one was born in Milwaukee, his name becoming synonymous with a subterranean mammal, a dermatologic finding, and Avogadro’s number.
He played baseball instead of cricket and ate hot dogs instead of dal.
But what if this Amol had been born in India?
What if this Amol had actually been Amol Muzumdar?

Amol Muzumdar was born on November 11, 1974, in Mumbai, demonstrating early on a gift of athleticism.
The American Amol was born on December 15, 1977, in the aforementioned Milwaukee. It became quickly obvious that he enjoyed the seated position.
Muzumdar took the national passion of cricket and made it his own, positioning himself in his youth to live a life revolving around the sport.
The American played Little League, proving himself adept at hitting the air but not necessarily the ball. On one occasion, rather than catch a line drive, he opted to let it hit him in the face.
The Indian played for the national U-19 cricket team, being regarded as one of the country’s most promising prospects.
Stateside, Amol decided to play intramural softball in college, occasionally bypassing the game completely in favor of the on-campus bar.
Muzumdar went on to have a very successful career in domestic cricket, though he would carry the disappointment of never having been selected to play for the national team.
The American, too, dealt with disappointment, his lowest moment being when the Taco Bell drive-thru gave him the wrong sauce.
The Indian eventually landed in coaching, bouncing around the industry as a batting consultant, ensuring consideration for larger roles.
Back in the US, Amol landed in blogging, bouncing around from topic to topic, ensuring consideration for low readership.
In 2023, Muzumdar was appointed as the coach of the Indian women’s national cricket team.
In 2023, the other Amol took a road trip to Buffalo to try beef on weck.
Fast forward to November 2, 2025, when the Indian coach helped lead the women’s national team to its first ever World Cup title.
On the same day, Amol watched 11 hours of American football, forgetting to shower but remembering to gamble.
